Luv Ya Summer!!

It is FINALLY feeling like summertime (hence the title)! The weather is warming up, we've had some lazy days for the first time in a long time, and best of all activities that never happen any other time!

First are summer classes. I have been taking ballet classes over the summer to keep my feet in shape for pointe (no pics of that-sorry!), Emily and Amanda have been taking more swimming lessons, and Emily finished a basketball class with the school.

Besides that, our main summer adventure has been the zoo with friends.

Everyone gets a place on the plastic camel

The zoo has gotten a ton of new exhibits since we went last. A petting zoo, an exhibit where you walk into the wallaby cage and watch them eat right next to you, and best of all, the butterfly house. The butterfly house has been here before, but it wasn't last year so Amanda had to wait a whole year to see all the cool butterflies again. But we all loved it and got to watch exotic butterflies fly by, or even stop to land on us.

Amanda had to wait forever to get one to land on her, but when it did, she couldn't get it off! (It figures, right?)

But this one, however, was not from the butterfly house.

As another summer activity, I have been walking in the mornings on weekdays for a 22 mile walk to the temple that my Young Womens group is going to do (so much for sleeping in) :(. Amanda came along on one of these walks and we found that butterfly sitting on the sidewalk. We easily got it onto Amanda's arm and walked back home with it. We put it out in the sun so it would fly away (we think that was what it was doing with its wings wide open on the sidewalk). Amanda got her book and identified it as some kind of Swallowtail (I think). She is getting better at identifying these little guys!

Now for our next summer activity-Roaring Springs Water Park!!!
