McCall 2013

On Valentine's Day, our family got home from school/work and started driving to McCall, Idaho for our almost annual winter trip. We got to our hotel we stay in every year and immediately went swimming in the pool.
Mom also got to pet this baby deer!
Just kidding, she did not really pet the deer. But she could have if that glass window wasn't right there! This little guy spent the night right outside the wall of the swimming pool sleeping and getting warm. He was like our little pet for the day.

The next morning we went to look at the McCall snow sculptures that weren't already melted. The grand prize winner was conveniently located in the parking lot of our hotel. And it really was grand prize worthy.
Not only was it a dragon on top of its castle, you could go inside the castle! (We are inside it in this picture, but you probably can't see us)
 Here's part of the inside.
The 1st place winner was the Snow Queen from Narnia. The queen wasn't in good shape, but her bears pulling the carriage were really cool.
The award for "Most Photogenic" was this cool-looking guy from the Hobbit. (I wouldn't know, none of us have seen the movie)
It even had a slide down the side of it
After that we went skiing at Brundage. We still had a few breakdowns/tantrums, but it was probably our best and smoothest skiing trip yet (it's not a family skiing trip unless there's some drama!) Here we are about to go down a green hill. Green is as far as we get, no blues since last year's traumatic experience on the Thumper.
Even though we were tired and a bit sore from a good skiing day, we went ice skating for about an hour or so in the afternoon.
And finally, a family favorite, tubing at the Activity Barn. Plus we went and got dinner at the Pancake House, another tradition of ours.
To finish off the trip, here's Amanda just being Amanda.
